Welcome to the launch of CPTCSA Learning Institute

It has been a good and fruitful 16 years since CPTCSA came into being. We have seen its growing pains; the organization of the officers and board members; looking for funds for its activities, projects and operations; advocacy, training of the staff and other workers in the field of child sexual abuse; publication of a newsletter and information, education and communication materials; liaising with similarly-minded groups; the holding of a yearly summer institute; painstaking work with government agencies e.g. DSWD, DepEd, CWC among others; and now the launching of our Learning Institute.

There is the need for continued multidisciplinary, collective, collaborative and interdependent work where everyone does their job in a level playing field without much of regard to professional hierarchy. CPTCSA has been trying its best to hone the skills needed to improve the services related to child sexual abuse since we opened our first Summer Institute in 1996. We have conducted researches and studies and have presented them to local and international conferences. We have likewise made materials to increase the knowledge and skills in the field.

We have sponsored and helped start similar projects in China, Malaysia, Vietnam and India. We believe in the empowerment of social workers and professionals involved in child proteciton by enhancing their knowledge and skills.  But most importantly, there the need for equality of the professions dealing with child care and safety. We still have a lot to do. On behalf of the officers and staff of CPTCSA, I would like to welcome you all to this momentous activity. Mabuhay tayong lahat.
